Street Legal Nissan Patrol GU

Street Legal Nissan Patrol GU

Did you know that nearly all products that are manufactured by Superior Engineering are street legal within Australia?

And although in many circumstances

these products DO NOT require separate approvals, sometimes it is preferable to have these items certified for use under a Suspension Modification Code (NCOP VSB14 LS4/LS6).

Superior Engineering has been working hard to aid customers in the certification and approval process of many of their parts. Currently for Nissan Patrol GU Y61 Coil Sprung Utes and Wagons (non ESC only), we have a large list of NCOP VSB14 LS Design Code approvals for many Superior Engineering Manufactured Suspension Components.

Superior Engineering Components!

What this means is that if you have any of these items on your vehicle and the vehicle can be presented in a roadworthy state to an AP (*Approved Persons - TMR) for approval under the NCOP VSB - LS suspension codes, you will be able to get those Superior Engineering parts Mod plated and fully approved! Please note, this is not to get your 6" lift and 40" tires approved at the same time, it just means you need to have the vehicle at the right height and wheel size to be considered legal in your state.

In many cases having all your suspension components approved can help a lot if anything is ever disputed by your insurance company, or if you are getting your annual roadworthy inspection. It will also help with resale value of the vehicle and ease registration issues should they arise.

Generally getting approvals is just a matter of producing the vehicle in a roadworthy state to an AP approval officer who is accredited to do NCOP VSB - LS suspension code (check with you state authority). Provide the AP person with the correct paperwork from Superior Engineering and pay to have it inspected and approved. All the relevant paperwork is available from Superior Engineering, once you have filled in the Approval Checklist Online. The checklist allows us to compile the correct Design Codes to suit all of your Superior Engineering components as well as the comprehensive fitting instructions; maintenance schedules and approval check sheets that are required by the Inspectors. This information is then forwarded directly to your AP approval person to allow them to compile and file the information once the approval is completed. By sending the information directly to the AP inspector, it also allows them a point of contact should they require additional information from Superior Engineering and allows the customer to just concentrate on getting to the inspection.

As you can appreciate all the time and effort that is required to help you - the customer through this process does cost superior engineering, so these Approval Data Packs are available at a nominal fee.

Superior Engineering is continually working with state and federal transport authorities, to ultimately help our customers get the best and safest products available! This commitment to quality and innovation is ongoing and we are continually expanding the product range and models supported.
