SEAMLESS HANDOVER

You’ve got a file for a product you need cut? We can handle it. Superior Engineering can process and use many different file types including DXF, DWG, PDF, STP, 3D STEP and more. For any components that require folding, our team will need a to be supplied with a 3D STEP File accompanied by a PDF that includes all necessary bend details, overall dimensions and finishes.

NO FILE? NO WORRIES.

If you have an idea in mind but not sure how to transform your vision into reality, that’s no problem. Superior Engineering’s design team use the latest in 2D and 3D CAD Software and can develop, 3D model and draft your concept if you don’t already have a file on hand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What Is Laser Cutting?

A. Laser cutting uses a focused, high-power laser to cut through materials. The beam is controlled for high precision, yet still cuts through thicker materials with ease.

Q. What are the benefits of Laser Cutting?

A. Laser cutting is faster than traditional machining methods while being just as, if not more, reliable. This allows for short turnaround time on machining that would otherwise be impossible. In certain conditions, laser cutting is also more energy-efficient compared to traditional machining like plasma cutting.

Q. What can Laser Cutters cut?

A. Laser cutters can cut over 25,000 types of materials. Common uses include cutting metals, such as aluminum and stainless steel, as well as organic materials like wood.

Q. What are Tig and Mig?

A. TIG is Tungsten Inert Gas welding, while MIG is Metal Inert Gas welding. Both methods utilise an electric arc, but have different applications. It’s important to choose the right method for the job.

Q. What is CNC Machining?

A. Computer numerical control (CNC) machining makes use of computer programming to write a sequence of instructions for a machine. When executed, the machine will move according to the programming rapidly, efficiently completing a job. CNC is widely applied, including to laser cutting.

Q. How long for delivery of my order?

A. Superior Engineering can offer same day laser cutting on the smaller orders sent through with suitable cut files ready to go.

Q. How often can I place an order?

A. Orders can be placed hourly if needed. Our team will process your order as soon as possible, and contact you with a price and ETA in a reasonable timeframe.

Q. What is the best way to obtain a quote?

A. Get in touch with our Laser Fab Services team via email - [email protected]

Q. Do I need to pay for design work?

A. Superior Engineering have a minimum hourly rate for any design work done. Please contact us for a quote.

Q. Is there a minimum charge?

A. Superior Engineering have a minimum order value of $150 for our Cutting, Folding & Welding Services.
