Chromoly Heim Joints
Chromoly Heim Joints
Superior Engineering is proud to introduce
our new line of Heat Treated 4130 Chromoly Heim Joints. These Joints are made using only the best materials and the combination of heat treating and Cryogenic treatment make them some of the best joints ever made.
Their housings are machined from 4130 Chromoly while the balls are made of 52100 bearing steel. Both are heat treated and hard chrome finished for improved strength and corrosion resistance. A heavy duty injection moulded Teflon impregnated Nylon race is used between the two components to allow for smooth and precise ball movement. Finally, the entire heim joint assembly (housing, ball, and race) are cryogenically treated to realign their internal molecular structures for added hardness, durability, and wear resistance. Not only does this unique and complex manufacturing process make these joints tougher, it more than doubles their effective lifespan.
We have a large range of sizes so you can find just the joint for your application. The ¾” to 1 ¼” heim joints are perfect for lower control arms and lower 4-link bars on most small to mid-size 4wds & truggys, buggies and ultra4 style vehicles are recommended to generally use 1 ¼” joints. They can also be used on steering linkages, however, in road-going vehicles tie rod ends are often better suited for those applications. ½” – 5/8” joints are ideal for swaybar links or custom lightbar linkages. If you are unsure of the appropriate type or size of joint to use in your application, please contact us before placing an order.
